Asus V550CA-CJ105H is a laptop with touchscreen display and so it is a little more expensive than a usual laptop with this configuration. Of course, I am not talking about an ultrabook here because of its dimensions and weight. It is a portable and elegant laptop that you can use at home or at work. The Core i5 processor is great for those who need performance and a generous battery life. Unlike other processors, this one has a low frequency due to the low power consumption technology. Even if it isn’t cheap you get a lot of storage and multitasking at this price.
It has a very awesome price (see special price & best deal here) and a good discount. And if you’re in search for a cheaper model than you should go with the i3 model – V550CA-CJ104H.
You will notice the Windows 8 OS by its friendly and simple interface – almost everything at a distance of a click. The Logitech B110 mouse is one great mouse if you like one with cable and it can ease your work.
The Intel Core i5-3337U isn’t really new because it is part of the 3rd generation of processors and the latest series from Intel is Haswell. You won’t notice many differences between this configuration and one with a 4rth generation CPU. The video card is also integrated and its performance can depend on the CPU. Other specs of this laptop are: the 6GB RAM and the 1TB HDD. The Intel HD Graphics 4000 video card is great because of the low consumption and it can handle HD/FullHD movies.
The screen has the standard diagonal and resolution – 15.6 inches and a 1366 by 768 pixels resolution. Its features are the folowing: DVDdrivce, stereo speakers, webcam, 4-cell battery, Windows 8 Home, WLAN, LAN, HDMI etc. Most of them can be seen on usual laptops.
Pros and cons
Pros: has 3 USB ports (one has 3.0 interface), about 5 hours of battery life with its 4-cell battery, touchscreen display and the large storage.
Cons: could be lighter like other models.
Asus V550CA-CJ105H is is similar to the X550 series, only this one has better specs and a touch screen. The V500 series is thinner because it doesn’t come with the built-in DVD that is useless in my opinion. So future laptop don’t need this feature al long as there are USB 3.0 ports (it is much faster solution and they occupy less space). If you can’t afford it, you can try a laptop with Core i3 or without touch.
